Field and offline workflows

Static QR codes for fixed utility signs and simple print assets

Some QR codes do not need routing, analytics, or editable destinations. For fixed utility jobs such as WiFi signs, contact sharing, WhatsApp starts, calendar reminders, and internal instructions, Static QR keeps the payload directly in the image.

  • Generate fixed QR codes for common utility and offline scenarios
  • Save, organize, duplicate, archive, and download Static QR records
  • Use CSV import and ZIP export for batches that do not need scan analytics

Static QR is for fixed content. Use Dynamic QR when you need scan analytics, routing, expiry, or editable destinations after print.

Static QR is the right fit when the content is stable and the scanner should open or use that content directly. A WiFi sign, a fixed contact card, a phone number, or a location pin does not always need a managed redirect layer.

The trade-off is intentional: static codes are not editable after print and Nimriz does not see scans unless the encoded payload itself is a Nimriz managed link. If the destination may change or scan reporting matters, use dynamic QR codes instead.

Who it is for

Storefront and office teams

Print WiFi, location, contact, and internal instruction signs where the content is stable and scan tracking is not needed.

Event and field coordinators

Prepare simple QR handouts for fixed phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email, calendar, or map actions before an event.

Operations teams

Maintain a small library of reusable utility codes and batch-export assets for designers, office managers, or print vendors.

What you get

Fixed utility payloads

Create QR codes for fixed information or device actions: WiFi access, contact cards, WhatsApp and SMS starts, email drafts, phone numbers, calendar reminders, map locations, and plain text.

Saved QR library

Signed-in teams can save validated Static QR records, organize them in QR-specific folders, switch between gallery and table views, and reuse them for repeat print requests.

Import and export

Generate batches from CSV for supported utility types, then bulk-export selected saved codes as a ZIP with a manifest for handoff to designers, office teams, or print vendors.

Clear safety boundary

Static QR records can store sensitive payload fields in your workspace. Review WiFi, contact, message, and private text payloads before saving or sharing.

How it works

Generate once, test carefully, and print only when the payload is stable

A Static QR code encodes the payload directly in the image. The workflow is simple, but the print decision should be deliberate because the payload cannot be changed after distribution.

1
Plan

Choose a static type that matches the job, such as WiFi, contact, phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, calendar, location, or plain text.

2
Publish

Fill the validated fields and review the live QR preview. For signed-in workflows, name the code and optionally assign it to a QR folder.

3
Measure

Scan-test the generated QR code on common devices before printing. Check the encoded action and make sure the payload is still correct.

  • Download PNG for digital handoff or SVG for print layouts. Use bulk export when several saved static codes need to move together.
  • Use Dynamic QR instead when the destination might change, the campaign needs analytics, or the scanner should land on an editable hosted page.
Example
WiFi sign at reception
Static QR encodes the guest network details. Visitors scan and connect without a Nimriz redirect.
Fixed contact card
Static QR encodes vCard or MeCard details for a booth contact or office front desk.
When to switch
Use a Nimriz short link or QR Page when the destination may change, analytics matter, or the page should stay editable.

Setup

  1. 1
Pick the simplest QR type that matches the job
Start with the payload: WiFi, contact, phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, calendar, location, URL, or plain text. If the content is fixed and does not need tracking, Static QR is usually the cleanest option.
  2. 2
Save only payloads you are comfortable storing
Signed-in saved Static QR records store validated payload fields in the workspace. Be careful with WiFi passwords, personal contact details, private messages, and private text payloads.
  3. 3
    Scan-test before print
Static QR is not editable after printing. Test the downloaded file with real devices and realistic lighting before committing it to signage, cards, packaging inserts, or internal materials.

What good looks like

Using dynamic workflows for fixed utility jobs

  • Extra redirect and analytics setup for codes that do not need tracking
  • Simple WiFi or contact signs mixed into campaign reporting surfaces
  • One-off files that are hard to find again when a team needs a reprint

With Static QR codes

  • Fixed payloads live directly in the QR image
  • Saved records keep reusable utility codes organized in the workspace
  • CSV import and ZIP export support batches without changing the static boundary

Use Static QR for stable utility content. Use Dynamic QR or QR Pages when the destination needs to change, report scans, or stay editable after print.

Frequently asked questions

Can Static QR codes be edited after printing?

No. The content is encoded directly in the QR image. If the content may change, use a Nimriz managed short link or QR Page instead.

Do Static QR codes create scan analytics?

No. Static QR scans open the encoded content directly. Nimriz scan analytics are available when the QR points to a Nimriz managed link or hosted page.

Which Static QR types are useful for everyday operations?

Common types include WiFi, contact cards, WhatsApp, SMS, email, phone, plain text, calendar reminders, locations, and fixed URLs.
