Account settings

Manage workspace name, profile details, email, password, appearance, and connected auth methods.

Settings overview

The Nimriz dashboard separates settings into two scopes: workspace settings (which affect the workspace you are currently in) and personal profile settings (which affect your individual account across all workspaces).

Changes in workspace settings apply to the entire workspace. Changes in profile settings apply only to you, regardless of which workspace you are in.

Settings → Account (workspace settings)

These settings are scoped to the current active workspace. Only workspace Admins can make changes here.

Workspace name

The workspace name appears in:

  • The account menu and workspace switcher.
  • Invitation emails sent to new team members.
  • Deletion confirmation prompts.

To rename the workspace:

  1. Go to Settings → Account.
  2. Find the workspace name field.
  3. Edit the name (maximum 120 characters).
  4. Click Save.

Who can rename the workspace: Admins only. Members and Viewers cannot change the workspace name.

Workspace information

The Account settings page shows these read-only fields for reference:

  • Workspace ID-the stable UUID for your workspace. Use this when contacting support or when referencing your workspace in API calls that require a workspace identifier.
  • Your role-your current role in this workspace.
  • Analytics privacy mode-whether the workspace is using standard or strict analytics privacy (see Analytics and privacy for details).

Workspace deletion

The Danger zone section of Settings → Account contains the workspace deletion option. See Workspace and profile deletion for the full deletion lifecycle, grace period, and recovery process.

Settings → Profile (personal settings)

These settings affect your individual user identity. They apply across all workspaces you belong to.

Display name

Your display name is your first and last name as shown in:

  • The dashboard header and account menu.
  • Team member lists in workspaces you belong to.
  • Invitation context when you invite others.

To update your name:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile.
  2. Edit the First name and Last name fields.
  3. Click Save.

Both fields are optional. If you leave a field blank, that part of your name is removed. Each field is limited to 120 characters.

Email address

Your email address is your primary identity credential in Nimriz. It determines which workspace invitations you can accept.

Changing your email:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile.
  2. Enter a new email address in the email field.
  3. Click Save to initiate the change.
  4. A confirmation email is sent to the new address.
  5. The email change is not final until you click the confirmation link in that email.
  6. Until confirmed, your current email remains active and the new address shows as "pending" in your profile settings.

Important notes:

  • If you are signed in via Google, your Nimriz email is linked to your Google account's email. Changes to your Google account email may affect how you sign in.
  • If your organization uses Enterprise SSO, your email is controlled by your identity provider. Contact your IT administrator for email changes.
  • You cannot change to an email address already used by another Nimriz account.

Password

If you signed up with an email and password (not Google or SSO), you can change your password from Settings → Profile.

  1. Go to Settings → Profile.
  2. Find the Password section.
  3. Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters).
  4. Enter it again to confirm.
  5. Click Save.

If you are locked out (cannot access your current session): use the Forgot password flow instead of the in-settings password change.

If you signed in with Google: A password is not set on your account by default. You can add a password from Settings → Profile if you want to also be able to sign in with email and password.

Connected authentication methods

The Profile settings page shows which authentication methods are linked to your account:

  • Email/password-direct login with your Nimriz email.
  • Google-login via Google OAuth.
  • SSO-login via your organization's SAML provider (Org-level configuration required).

You can link additional methods from this page. For example, after initially signing up with Google, you can add a password to also support email/password login.

Settings → Appearance

Appearance settings are personal and do not affect other workspace members.

  • Theme-Light mode, dark mode, or follow system preference.
  • Color theme-Select from Nimriz's available accent color options.

Changes apply immediately across your active dashboard session.

Settings → Security

The Security section of your profile settings covers:

  • Two-factor authentication (2FA)-Set up, manage, or disable TOTP. See Two-factor authentication for full instructions.
  • Active sessions-Review and revoke active sessions on other devices if needed.

Understanding scope: personal vs workspace

A common source of confusion is which settings are personal and which are workspace-level.

Troubleshooting

I cannot edit the workspace name

You must be a workspace Admin to rename the workspace. If you are a Member or Viewer, ask an Admin to make the change.

My email change is not taking effect

Email changes require confirmation via the link sent to the new address. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the confirmation email. The change remains pending until you click that link.

I cannot see a password field in my profile

If you signed in exclusively via Google or Enterprise SSO, a password may not be set on your account. You should see an option to set a password for the first time if you want to add email/password login as an additional method.

My display name is not updating in team lists

Display name changes may take a moment to reflect across all surfaces. Try refreshing the page. If the issue persists after a few minutes, contact support.
