Without a dedicated link workflow

  • Configuration, reporting, and follow-up work can spread across multiple tools.
  • Teams rely on manual notes or separate dashboards to explain what happened.
  • Changing campaign behavior often requires recreating or replacing links.

With Retail & GS1 QR

  • The capability stays attached to the same branded short-link record.
  • Operational details are easier to review alongside analytics and related links.
  • Teams can keep the public URL stable while improving how the link behaves behind it.

Use this page to evaluate the workflow, then follow the related docs or pricing path when you need implementation detail.

What you get
  • Model the product data behind every generated code with product records, packaging variants, customer-owned identifiers, supported qualifiers, saved Digital Links, generated assets, validation runs, and resolver configuration.
  • Validate supported GS1 Digital Link structure before asset generation, including normalized identifiers, qualifier checks, canonical URI details, resolver host posture, render settings, errors, warnings, and saved validation reports.
  • Generate conservative GS1 Digital Link QR assets and GS1 DataMatrix assets, download individual files, queue ZIP exports with manifests and optional validation reports, or use authenticated Retail & GS1 API endpoints where entitled.
  • Configure resolver rules for consumer, retail/POS, supply-chain, linkset, and fallback modes while keeping resolver activity separate from short-link QR analytics and privacy-safe by design.
Availability

Professional and Enterprise

Retail & GS1 workflows are available to Professional and Enterprise workspaces. Customers bring their own GS1 identifiers and source data.

How it works

1

Model the product record

Create the product, target market, GTIN, packaging variant, artwork version, and print status that should sit behind generated QR and DataMatrix assets.

2

Validate the Digital Link

Build the canonical GS1 Digital Link from supported inputs, review blocker errors and review warnings, then save the validation report before generating assets.

3

Generate, resolve, and export

Create QR or GS1 DataMatrix assets, configure resolver modes for the supported scan contexts, and export selected files with manifest and report details.

Everything included

Structured product workspace

Keep product identity, target market, GTIN, packaging size, packaging format, artwork version, print status, saved Digital Links, generated codes, and resolver rules in the same workspace area.

Digital Link validation reports

Review normalized identifiers, supported qualifiers, canonical URI shape, resolver host safety, render settings, errors, and warnings before a code moves into production review.

QR and DataMatrix generation

Generate GS1 Digital Link QR assets from the canonical resolver URI and GS1 DataMatrix assets from the validated element string, using conservative output suited for packaging review.

Resolver rule modes

Define consumer redirects, retail/POS JSON, supply-chain JSON, linkset JSON, and fallback behavior with explicit request fields such as context, mode, link type, language, and country.

Exports and manifests

Download individual assets or queue ZIP exports for selected generated codes. Export packages can include a manifest and validation report JSON files for handoff records.

API support on entitled plans

Use authenticated Retail & GS1 endpoints to create products, packaging variants, Digital Links, generated code assets, resolver rules, and validation responses when a technical workflow needs repeatability.

Retail & GS1 capability map

The feature set is organized around the records and controls a team needs before a product-backed 2D code is handed to packaging, retail operations, or a technical integration.

Records
Products, target markets, GTINs, packaging variants, artwork versions, print status, saved Digital Links, generated codes, resolver rules, and validation runs.
Validation
Supported GS1 inputs are normalized and checked before generation, with errors treated as blockers and warnings treated as review signals.
Assets
GS1 Digital Link QR assets encode the canonical HTTPS resolver URI. GS1 DataMatrix assets encode the validated GS1 element string.
Resolver
Consumer, retail/POS, supply-chain, linkset, and fallback modes use explicit request fields instead of guessing behavior from User-Agent strings.
Exports
Single-file downloads and async ZIP exports support packaging handoff, design review, partner review, and technical archive needs.

Resolver activity stays separate from short-link QR analytics and privacy-safe by design.

Capability boundaries for Retail & GS1

  • Retail & GS1 is a Professional and Enterprise workflow for product-backed packaging assets, not a general-purpose QR image generator or a replacement for standard Dynamic QR campaign pages.
  • Customers bring their own GS1 identifiers, GTIN ownership, source product data, partner requirements, and production approval process. Nimriz does not issue identifiers or certify compliance.
  • Nimriz validates supported structure, helps teams review errors and warnings, and generates assets from the supplied records, but printed-code performance still depends on size, substrate, contrast, placement, lighting, and scanner environment.
  • Resolver activity is handled separately from standard short-link QR analytics, with privacy-safe identifiers and rollups rather than raw IP addresses or full User-Agent strings in Postgres.
  • Dashboard workflows serve packaging and operations teams, while the authenticated API supports repeatable product, packaging, validation, resolver, and asset creation where the plan allows it.
