Workspace switching

Move between workspaces intentionally and fix issues caused by the wrong active workspace.

Workspace switching

If you belong to more than one workspace, Nimriz uses an active workspace so the dashboard knows which team's data and permissions to show.

Why the active workspace matters

The active workspace affects:

  • which links you see
  • which domains you can use
  • which teammates and settings you can manage
  • which permissions the UI applies

If the wrong workspace is active, the product can look incomplete even though your account is working correctly.

When Nimriz switches workspaces automatically

Nimriz should automatically switch you into a workspace after you accept an invite to it. After that, you can move between workspaces intentionally from the dashboard switcher.

If your account belongs to an organization with more than one workspace, your active org context and active workspace should stay aligned. Nimriz still applies permissions and dashboard data based on the active workspace.

Signs you are in the wrong workspace

  • expected links or domains are missing
  • you can see the product, but not the team or billing settings you expected
  • a teammate can see an item that you cannot find
  • an invite appears accepted, but the dashboard still looks like your previous workspace

What to do

  1. Open the account menu in the dashboard shell.
  2. If needed, switch to the correct organization first.
  3. Select the workspace you expect to be in.
  4. Refresh the page if the data still looks stale.
  5. Retry the action after switching.

Invite-related edge cases

Invite already accepted

If you already joined that workspace before, the correct recovery path is usually switching to it instead of clicking the invite again.

Joined successfully but landed in old data

That is usually an active-workspace issue, not a failed join. Switch workspaces first, then recheck the dashboard.

I have org access, but not the workspace I expected

An org-level role does not remove the need for an explicit active workspace. If you were told to manage a child workspace, switch into that workspace before assuming the invite or role assignment failed.

When to contact support

Contact support if:

  • switching workspaces does not update the data you see
  • an accepted invite never makes the new workspace available
  • permissions look wrong even after you confirmed the active workspace
