Use custom QR codes when you want a scannable asset that matches your brand without changing the underlying short link.
What you can usually customize
Depending on your plan and feature access, Nimriz QR tools can include:
- foreground and background colors
- gradients
- module and corner shapes
- quiet zone or padding
- logo placement
- output format and size
Best practices for reliable scans
- keep strong contrast between foreground and background
- leave enough quiet zone around the code
- keep the logo small enough that the QR pattern remains readable
- test the final design on real devices before using it in print
Downloads and formats
Use SVG when you need a sharp, scalable asset for design tools or print workflows. Use PNG when you need a simple bitmap file for slides, docs, or quick sharing.
If multiple sizes are available, choose a larger export for print instead of upscaling a small image later.
Presets and reuse
If your workspace offers presets, save your approved styling so the team can reuse the same QR look across multiple links. This reduces support issues caused by one-off low-contrast designs.
Logo guidance
If you add a logo:
- use a clean image with transparent or simple edges when possible
- avoid covering too much of the QR pattern
- retest the code after every logo change
If a QR stops scanning after a logo update, reduce the logo size and increase contrast before assuming the destination link is broken.
Regeneration behavior
QR assets may need regeneration after:
- style changes
- preset changes
- logo changes
- certain link-level QR setting changes
If the download still looks stale, regenerate it from the latest saved settings.
Common problems
The code looks branded but will not scan
This is usually caused by low contrast, a logo that is too large, or insufficient quiet zone.
The QR option is missing
Custom QR can be plan-gated or feature-gated. Check with your workspace admin or support if you expected the feature to be available.
The downloaded file does not match the preview
Save your latest changes, then regenerate and download again.
When to contact support
Contact support if:
- regenerated downloads stay out of sync with the saved settings
- QR assets fail even with safe contrast and a small logo
- presets appear to be missing or not applying correctly
